About Me
My name is Janine Renner and I have just completed my Single Subject Credential at California State University, San Marcos. I now have my single subject credential in mathematics and two semesters of student teaching high school mathematics under my belt.
I am many things. I am a first generation college graduate! A southern California native, a globe-trotter, life-long learner, surfer, piano player, food and wine enthusiast, sister, teacher, gardener, soccer player, server, water skier, live music addict, and a lover of life and all of its experiences. In 2007, I received a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Spanish from CSUSM. I set myself up to go straight into the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Program but realized I wasn't ready to start teaching and i did not feel passionate teaching elementary education. After graduation I continued to work in the restaurant industry as well as teach in different capacities, such as English to foreign adults and in South Korea to middle school kids, teaching piano instruction as well as surf lessons. I traveled to Spain, Italy, Morocco, Brazil, Argentina, Thailand, Costa Rica, and El Salvador to name a few. I lived in the Pacific Northwest, visited many of our National Parks, studied enology, and continued to educate myself through various courses at my local community college. And now, here I am! I'm ready to embark on a new journey as an educator. I'm excited to get into the classroom to motivate students to explore the world through mathematics. |
